Maybe they are the snarky coworker with whom you can’t resist exchanging witty barbs. Perhaps they charm you, perhaps they infuriate you, but something has shifted between you. You feel a tension that indicates that maybe, just maybe, there’s something deeper here.

You’re about to escalate the situation- make the first move, reveal a deep secret- when reality slaps you square in the face.

This is… not your life. Is it?

You are from somewhere else. A starship, travelling light years away. Or maybe a land of myth and magic. You were created for a life far bolder than the one you’re living.

You’ve got to get out of here!

In the life you’re meant to be living, is this person there? Do they mean the same things to you? Do you both make it out alive?

One thing is certain: you can’t have both.

Coffeeshop AU is a two player game about choosing your own fate, death of the author, and <3 romance <3. Its a love letter to fandom and fan fiction, and finding the life that makes you happiest.

Two players play as ‘shipped’ characters in an imaginary fandom who discover their reality is actually a fanfiction of their canon lives. They have the opportunity to leave the life they know to return to the canon, but cannot know all of the details before they make the choice, and cannot return once they have gone.
